WE ARE OPEN WITH DCFS, IDPH AND CDC COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS AND PROCEDURES
COVID-19 Exposure: Your household MUST remain out of the center for 10-14 days if any member of your household has or has been in close contact with anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19. You may be asked to quarantine for 10-14 days or be tested if you have traveled internationally or domestically from an area which is experiencing widespread community transmission of COVID-19.
Illness: If your child has a fever of 100.4 or higher, headache, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain from unknown cause, congestion/runny nose, loss of taste and/or smell, nausea, fatigue from unknown cause, muscle or body aches or one that may arise with COVID-19, we ask that they stay home until they’ve been symptom free without medication for 72 hours. If your child is sent home or stays home from our center with a fever of 100.4 or any of the above symptoms, siblings must stay home as well for the 72-hour fever free and medicine-free policy. This will minimize exposure at the center. We may request that your child have a Covid-19 test if we feel the need due to the symptoms that your child may be experiencing.
You may keep your child home for 10 days if you do not want to have your child tested.
COVID-19 Testing Requirements: At this time, daycares and schools cannot accept a NEGATIVE RAPID TEST. The only negative test we can accept is a PCR test that is sent out. If a rapid test is going to be done, you may want to ask that two swabs be taken at the same time. The reasoning is because if the rapid is negative, another swab will have to be taken for the PCR test. If the rapid is positive, then we can accept that test per CDC and IDPH guidelines. Children also are not allowed to “test out” like adults can at this time. If your child or family member tests, we will need a copy of the results.
Covid-19 Quarantine Early Release: If your child is a close contact to a positive person you must have the early release from the Health Department to return. When you are monitored by the Health Department, please make sure you communicate with them and answer calls or texts, or you will not be given a release to return. You must have the release when dropping off your child. You can forward the email that you will receive from the Health Department to Shelley Gorman at sgorman@growthincgeneseo.com or Brandi Littig at blittig@growthincgeneseo.com.

Little Owls Preschool:
Growth, Inc. is not-for-profit child care center licensed by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services. This means that the staff and the center meet state regulations for quality child care. Growth, Inc. was established in 1974 to provide quality child care to Geneseo and the surrounding communities.
During the past 30 years, Growth, Inc. has grown substantially. Beginning in Sue Sieben’s basement as a preschool program, we quickly expanded to the Trinity Episcopal Church and offered a full day child care program for 30 children. Then in January 1981, Growth, Inc. moved to the Congregational Parsonage to further expand the number of children to 38. In September of 1981, Growth began offering additional child care for children ages 6 weeks-12 years at the First United Methodist Church. We continued to expand that facility until 1985, then we reached our capacity of 56 children. In March of 1991, Growth, Inc. moved to our current location adjacent to the Geneseo Community Center. We are currently licensed for 156 children ages 6 weeks-12 years.
Growth, Inc. Child Care Center exists to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for children. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and education experience, which promotes each child’s social/emotional, physical and cognitive development.
